It was unanimous that long time member Geoffrey Daniel be elevated to LIFE Member status.
Geoffrey has been a tireless servant to the club with fresh ideas and enormous energy in making things happen.
His attributes include:
Representative for Bendigo Bank sponsorship, has made valuable networks with Sea Scouts and Scope and is a current and long-term member of the Executive Committee.
Major contributor, along with Bart Scheen, to building “Mordi Skiff” and its ongoing maintenance.
The driving force behind “Mordi Skiff” encouraging members of the club and the public to have a row with a prospect of becoming Social members.
Increased membership by the introduction of Skiff members.
Organises rowing events around Victoria and encourages others.eg The Steamer Run, Majors Creek, Docklands, Maribyrnong River etc. There are also regular rowing days or evenings organised during the week.
He is regularly involved in catering for Club events i.e. Regattas, Championships and has set up his trademark,” Beach Bouys Cafe” which has proven to be a great success.
Recently he has instigated recycling for the Club giving us valuable funding for projects.
He has an extensive history of selfless volunteering and dedication to promotion of membership and a passion for people and their interests. He is the man in the background that tidies the club whilst everyone is out sailing, especially during regatta times.
A past Member of the Year recipient.
Overall, Geoffrey Daniel is a great ambassador for our Club, and I believe he is a suitable candidate for a Life Membership.
I would therefore like to nominate him at the next Annual General Meeting at the Mordialloc Sailing Club.
