Learn to Windsurf Mordialloc Sailing Club:
We run the "Start Windsurfing" course during our regular sailing season from October to the end of April, subject to Instructor availability.
Previous courses have been oversubscribed with many going onto our waiting list. Those on our waiting list will be given first option to our next course.
To get onto our waiting list you need to complete a Windsurfer training Application 2024-2025 season form (without the payment details) and email to the Sail Training Coordinator at training@mordiallocsc.com.au and ask to be placed onthe waiting list
Courses consist of 6 x 2 hour sessions on a Saturday morning from 9:00 – 11:00.
The course is run with one instructor for two participants. Individual tailoring can be done regarding dates, time and learning goals. Please contact us to discuss.
Windsurfer equipment is provided by Mordialloc Sailing club. If you have your own equipment, usage of this can be discussed.
The course will cover:
Safety methods both on and off the water
Setup, rigging and care of the equipment
Basic sailing across the wind
Tacking or being able to turn up into the wind
Gybing and being able to turn down with the wind
Training Fees:
Intermediate & Senior $435
Juniors & Existing Members $375
Training fees consist of:
6 x 2 hour training sessions run by accredited Windsurfing Instructor
Use of MSC Windsurfer and PFD’s
MSC club polo shirt in first MSC course

Club membership provides trainees with full access to all club facilities and privileges.
It is recommended that anyone considering doing the course be:
15 + years of age
Able to swim 25m
Have a reasonable level of fitness
Weather:
Initially the course will go ahead even if conditions are poor. There is plenty of theory and onshore practical things to cover. The later sessions may be rescheduled if conditions are unsuitable. This can be negotiated at the time.
What to Bring:
Please dress appropriately depending on the weather. Some days may look warm but the wind can be cold. Bathers, rash vest and board shorts are recommended on warmer days but on the cooler days a wetsuit may be required. Booties are not essential, but provide foot protection. Gloves are useful and prevent blisters. Remember to bring sun screen and a hat. Towel and clothes to change into, the club facility has showers.
