Adult Dinghy Sail Training

Dinghy Program: Dinghy Sail Training programs cater for both juniors (13+ years old) and adults from beginners to advanced levels. It includes off-water theory plus on-water sailing using club boats (Pacers and Lasers).  Our hope is that trainees will continue to enjoy the sport and participate in our program of club racing or social sailing.

Pacer dinghies provide a good introduction to sailing. These are able to accommodate an on-board instructor in addition to a crew of 2. Mordialloc Sailing Club has 8 Pacers and 3 Laser dinghies for those at intermediate and advanced levels. If you have your own dinghy and wish to use this for the training, this may also be arranged if suitable.

All sail trainees get to use the club’s computerised sailing simulator. This helps to rapidly ‘learn the ropes’ and refine sailing skills further.

On the water, the club’s inflatable patrol boats are used to provide supervision and instruction.

Instruction is provided by Mordialloc Sailing Club members, all volunteers, who have Instructor accreditation from Australian Sailing.
