Start Sailing 1 course is for Juniors aged 13 and above including Adults of any age learning the basics of sailing in a Pacer Dinghy.
Registrations open 1st October 2022. An Application form will be posted below after this date.
You may then download the Application, complete it and send a copy to training@mordiallocsc.com.au

Sessions are all on Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:30 am commencing 4th February 2023 (excluding the Labor Day Long weekend). After the final Presentation session participants are invited to continue each Saturday morning through to the end of season (29th April 2023). With the exclusion of the Easter and ANZAC Long Weekend holidays.
This is the warmest time of the year with the best weather to Learn to Sail so is our most popular course each year.
The club provides all the boats and safety equipment and experienced Qualified Instructors and Assistants.

Mordialloc Sailing Club is a very family friendly club and it is not uncommon for the parents to be learning in this course while the juniors aged 6 to 12 years are learning in the Tackers program at the same time.
Course Overview
This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery.

Water confident.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
